(You're posting in the wrong thread...) That's not true any longer. After one player used an Ultimate Wad at Level 99, and nothing happened, it was changed so you can reach level 100 (and above). And yes, the player received another ultimate wad to use again

If I ever go back to softcore I'll do some more experimenting with fighting the NS with the micro. Fighting her with the helmet was fun though. I wouldn't recommend it to a new player but after you've fought her so many times and you have a kickass familiar, skills, (plus are in hardcore and didn't get a single wolf mask) you start to play around with less strategic equipment for the heck of it.

I'm a n00b insofar as I've only just completed my second NS quest but to be honest both times I've found beating her pretty easy.
Here's what I equipped: wolf mask Wand of Nagamar moxie magnet giant discarded torn-up glove acid-squirting flower dirty hobo gloves ring of increase damage I wait until level 12 and get ambidextrous funkslinging and I take lots of healing potions, I've found Doc Galactics for HP and Unrefined Mountain Stream for MP work best for me. I pretty much just moxious maneuvre the first form, using healing potions, and defeat her within around 15-20 turns. For the second form I disco stab face, and hit her with plot holes and grouchy restless spirits. This time around I defeated the second form in about 10 or 12 turns (I didn't count but was surprised at how easy it was). I'm still learning a lot and although I'm trying to increase my speed (this TT run took me approx 1600 turns) I'm less concerned with speed than I am with working things out at the moment. Still I'm pretty pleased with the speed, 6 of the 14 days the run took me I was away with no internet access. I'll probably do one more DB run to perm Ambidextrous Funkslinging before I change class and start learning from scratch with an entirely different class. |

I'd like to just repeat what has already been said and say that cocoabos are actually pretty good familiars to take on the NS with (though I've only done it twice, once as oxy-soft).
I would also recommend waiting until level 12, as I had a much easier time defeating her as a 12 then as an 11.

Waiting might work out, if you're not a moxie class. Because your mainstat will raise twice as fast as moxie, you'll likely get stronger while she still hits you for nearly the same amount of damage. Remember that the NS directly scales to your moxie, so if your a moxie class, waiting might definitely be a bad idea.
