No News Good News?!?

We haven't really been covering news on the CoH site. Mostly covering what updates I do to the site. But with this recent Q&A with Position, I ran into a brick wall trying to get an announcement out for it. CuppaJo was nice enough to post a link in the forums, Stratics was nice enough to post a link to us...but MMORGP, Warcry, BlueNews, IGN, GamerGod, Gameamp and others didn't post a thing after me sending the announcement. They still haven't posted a bit of news in the last 3 days. BlueNews and Warcry both carried our announcement when we interviewed CuppaJo a few months back...

So I'm kicking around covering some news on the site again, and basically just making this post to ramble on and complain about the fact that even though Positron took the time to answer our questions, I couldn't get but one fan site to actually cover the story. What is news to these big sites? They all seem to echo the same line over and over, and while the really big stories do deserve attention...what about the little things that really make or break the game?

When Coldfront first started covering CoH I would dig in the official forums and find interesting topics to post about. I'd look around and try and find different things to slap up on the site that I thought people would want to read. However trying to go after news day in and day out is a bit difficult and can be time consuming. Well just wanted to sound off a bit. I was very happy with the questions submitted to Positron, but I'm really bummed that it's so difficult to get an interview like this out to the gamers.

the answer to your questions is the most obvious answer out there. everyone of the large MMO fan sites out there, is run by an unoriginal greedy man. one who can not create his own product, so he uses what a team of hundreds took years to make, then makes a massive site, tons of banners and links and ways for him to profit, with special memberships, and contests, all for extra fees.

meanwhile people like ourselves, provide similar services and work out asses off. yet expect nothing in return.

if they could make money without it being coh.warcry.com you can bet your ass it'd be a blank page asking for money.

It all started with EQ, and why I always like Everlore back in the day. Sure everybody sold out to Sony. But even then they seemed to keep to to date with the new/patches/player issues/dev interviews. Meanwhile allahkzams, catacombs, warcry, and countless others suddenly sprang up, and sure we'll help you. But if you want the good infortmation you have to pay us.

Well I feel ya Frost. I pay 40 a month, just so people can play with my mods, enjoy my videos, and have a safe place to talk about such things. Do I see a cent in return? Negatory. So I feel your pain, and it's only their loss they didn't cover the interview.

Well, I won't act like we wouldn't like to make a good solid profit here! Heck I'd love to make this my full time job.

But it really seemed weird that I tried for 2 days to get that article published and even though it was with one of the CoH developers, nothing at all...couldn't get a blurb in anywhere. Got more response with CuppaJo's piece she did with us. *shrug* Ah well, I'll keep trying.
