But Jick and Skullhead think they can remove all the meat through meatsinks and that its better if exploiters and the richest are allowed to remain on top.

One of the first times I've disagreed with their decisions, but there you go.

Default NO LOANS

Bad thing about loans is that you can't trust everyone on the web. People would take advantage of it by getting a huge loan, creating a new account, sending all the meat from the old account to the new and Voila! No having to pay back your loan. See, If KoL was the real world, then it would work. But sadly, its not.

This probably isnt the best place for this post, but the topic of reset has been brought up, so here I go.

It may seem unfair to newer players such as myself that the old heads, such as TheBub, BoozerBear, etc etc, will always remain on top because they have been here since the beginning. I feel that those people at the top give us younger players something to strive for. Each day when I log off after spending all my adventures I always check the Hall of Records to find out how much I have climbed. I like having the older players as a yardstick for my progress.

Now this does not include those who became elite through the abuse of bugs, so therein lies the problem. Do we penalize the older players who have been loyal to Jick and Skullhead with a reset? or Do we allow the unscrupulous players to continue to flourish? Ive been playing MUDs for about 10 years now and everyone is so quick to yell "Player Wipe" when items and gold gets too abundant. That line of thinking rarely works though, it often alienates the older players who got where they are by hardwork and loyalty.

While I dont agree or disagree with Jick and Skullhead's decision on the reset, I sure as hell dont envy them for having to make the call.

I'm right with Reign of Fire on this one. I've only been playing for about a month and I've found that through cooperation with other players you can gain levels at an extrodinary speed. Like Reign of Fire I love checking out my stats compared to Boozer and Bub and my biggest ambition in this game is to eventually rival them.

Though the idea of meatsinks rubs me the wrong way a bit (mainly because it will slow the growth of all players not just the elites) I have to say that they seem to be working rather well. Also, as more and more players enter KOL, the meat will be redistributed and will slowly equalize. I've already witnessed many "high priced" items take a sharp plunge in the mall and I really don't think that will stop. I believe that right now the number of players are growing faster than the amount of meat in the game and it should result in a reduction of the "upper class" as the "middle" and "lower" classes begin to command more of the market. Basically, I'm saying KEEP THE GAME THE SAME!!!

It easy to keep the market in sync, all you have to do is take the limit option off. No limits = mean no one can horde 1 particular item, my store has no limits

Actually, limits were put in place to stop hording. People would buy up all the lower priced items, and only sell them at very high prices. Putting in limits stopped that. Still, I'm against limits.

if there was just a way to find the people that exploited bugs and hacked other people and just either ban or reset them, then all would be well. But whats in a dream?
