trouble connective via java app

I'm trying to use the java IRC chat available at coldfront.net. Unfortunately, I'm getting an error and don't know what to do about it.

Unable to connect : java.lang.NullPointerException

I'm not too sure what to do about that either.

It could be an out of date java engine on your client. If nothing else, just grab http://www.mirc.com/ and install that. It's much nicer than the java app.

That error message means your Java engine is either corrupt or a very old version I suggest you re-download the java engine from:

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
