IRC Connection Reset

I'm in Tokyo, Japan for 4 months on a study abroad program, and I've come across a problem. I use ice.coldfront.net for the Cybernations player group I'm a part of, but every time I log on, my connection is reset within a few minutes. I get this message,

and that's it. I'm not sure what the problem is or, for that matter, how to fix it.

This problem is not specific to coldfront, either. Esper.net and SynIRC.net react the same way.

I also use Chatzilla, if that makes a difference.

Unfortunately, I have no idea as to the technical reason this is happening. Have you tried any clients other than Chatzilla? Have you tried any of the other Coldfront IRC servers as well? (frozen.coldfront.net for example)

Furthermore does this happen with every IRC server you join? If so I would probably try switching out clients and see if that improves things. Otherwise it might be a router/connection issue.

Hopefully this will help some, keep us posted.

I downloaded mIRC, and I'm still having the same problem. All the coldfront servers produce the same effect.

It's probably a router or traffic problem, since I live in a public house.

Yes, I get that whenever I ping out as well. Are you on a wired or wireless network?

I actually fixed the problem. I'm on a wired network, but my computer recently crashed and tried to connect to the wired and wireless networks simultaneously. I disabled the wireless receiver in my computer, and everything works fine, now.

Awesome! But yes, Wireless tends to have a strong tendency to ping out a lot on IRC networks.

Glad to hear everything is better though.
