It might happen that you get banned from IRC, this may be due to a blacklisting system that we have and/or a proxy scanning bot. This keeps out the nasty clients we do not want on our network.
However the system is not perfect and it has it's weak points, so it can happen that you are banned while nothing is wrong.. Go over this first: 1. Scan your PC with a recent virusscanner (for example Free Antivirus for Windows - Open source GPL virus scanner, free and fairly good) 2. Follow the link that you got in the ban message, you can find it in your status window. At this link there should be an option to remove yourself from the open proxy list, once you've done this, try to reconnect to IRC in 60 minutes. 3. If the above fails, E-mail sabaoth@coldfront.net, mag@coldfront.net or frostbyghte@coldfront.net, we can see what's wrong then, make SURE to include a FULL copy/paste of your status window output. If we don't have this we cannot help you.

What's the average response time on email replies?
I've been auto-Z:Lined(Spammer) for almost a week now. I really don't know how to spam, but I'd hate to think that the system in place actually *creates* spammers because of a failure of acknowledgment for those who have become victims to coldfront's "less-than-perfect" means of rooting out those that don't belong here. I will resend emails in a few days. If someone, anyone, could acknowledge my plea for assistance, that would be... professional. |

I got Z:Lined earlier today, i was playing Americas Army and i used its inbuilt irc-client and tried to connect to irc.coldfront.net so i could chat while i waited to spawn, which ended up in getting Z:Lined, and i guess that means i got banned.
I sent a mail with my IP and everything. I dont know if i should post, but i dont know what else to do. |

I sent an email to the above emails from the email my account is registered with (with IP stuff), a copy of the body is included in case this gets a better response
I got banned from coldfront, I presume it was because I was testing some bots on a channel I'm an op on and apparently went over the max simul connections and the bot I did so with would keep re-trying to connect on a connection failure, which I assume caused the ban. For reference, the error is: (22:36:20) subzero.coldfront.net: (notice) *** You are banned from Coldfront (You are banned from this network) |
