I am currently Z-Lined from the ColdFront IRC network for running a Tor entrance/transit (aka middleman) node. The Abusive Hosts Blocking List can distinguish between entrance/transit and exit nodes, but it seems in the current configuration of the ColdFront IRC servers, they Z-Line both. I specifically chose to run only an entrance/transit node and not an exit node, to prevent any potential abuse from exiting on my IP-address and causing it to be blacklisted.
I am not connecting to ColdFront via the Tor network, I am trying to connect to it directly, but because I am listed in the AHBL, I am Z-Lined anyway. Shutting down my Tor entrance/transit node is not an option for me, so apart from that, will there be any possibility for me to still use the ColdFront IRC network? I can somewhat understand IRC server admins wanting to block Tor exit nodes, but I see no reason why entrace/transit nodes that are trying to make direct connections, rather than via the Tor network, should also be blocked. Would it be possible to switch the Z-Line to only Tor exit nodes (AHBL response 127.0.0.3) rather than any Tor nodes (127.0.0.2)? |

I am not connecting via the Tor network to ColdFront IRC. I am trying to make a direct connection, but just me running a Tor entrance/transit node causes me to be Z-lined. As a temporary workaround I have installed an IRC proxy on another computer operated by me, but I'd like to be able to connect directly again.
