Unable to connect to irc servers

I've been trying for some time now, from multiple computers and locations to connect to your irc servers, and have been unable to do so. Is there an issue with them that I am simply overlooking not reading something? Every other irc server I use works perfectly fine other then this one. Feedback/possible solutions would be appretiated. Thank you.

Hi Eanae,

Which servername are you using ?
We have several options of connecting:
ice.coldfront.net, ports 5556, 6667 and on port 7778 for SSL
storm.coldfront.net, ports 6667 and 7778 for SSL
subzero.coldfront.net, ports 6667 and 7778 for SSL

Are you running firewall software like Norton or McAfee ?m try disabling that for a bit and see if that's the cause of not being able to connect.

sorry i just registered here to post, i cant connect to any of the IRC servers either. Even the Java client can't connect.

Got any firewall software running ?, try disabling it for a bit and see if it fixes it..

If that doesn't work, can you do a: Start | Run | type in 'cmd' | Ok
You'll get a command prompt, then type:

tracert ice.coldfront.net

And paste the result here..

And can you for example get to: City of Heroes Coldfront - CoH & CoV Character builder ?
It's on the same server as the IRC is.., if you can get to that site it has to be some kind of firewall..

well I was on the IRC server just now for a while and now the connection is timing out again. Even Java chat 0.o

Hi Marioman,

That looks pretty good, you have the same results when connecting to ice.coldfront.net ?, it's a server on the other side of the globe in the Netherlands, the other 2 servers are US based.

Are you running firewall software ?, something like Norton, McAfee or Panda ?

Try connecting to ice.coldfront.net on port 5556, it's a port opened to evade some school/company firewalls blocking IRC..

If you still can't connect, can you do a:
Start | Run | type in 'cmd' | Ok
to get a command prompt, then type:
telnet ice.coldfront.net 6667

Paste me the output here please..

When using telnet I'm able to connect to the auth using port 5556 and get this:

:ice.coldfront.net NOTICE AUTH :*** Looking up your hostname...

So I assume it works.

But when I try to use mirc, it hangs and does:
