GuildWars is going to be a revolutionary MMORPG. From the no subscription fee, to the fully instanced world, and everything inbetween. What aspect of the game has caught your interest the most, and has you dieing for the game to go into open beta?

When i first heard about GW i was still playing D2 LOD and after almost 3 years of it i was soooo bored cuz i had done almost everything in the game besided beaten uber hackers in duels.
At that time though i was still underage and could not get a CC to play any MMO and when i heard that it was gonna be Free i was mad exited that i can finally give up D2 to a game genre that goes on forever and you can never get bored of it. But when i actually played the Demo all i remember is the fact after completing the missions especially 4,5 and stone summit it was such an epic experience for me that i was left with the OMG feeling after they were done. Another thing about this game is that is sort of has the same element that kept me going in D2 for soo long and that is to become the best Dueler their is and unless im wrong the Fame aspect of the game, which im gonna ask you about in the Alpha section , will strive people or Guild to be the best they can which will definately make the lasting of only 6 months till expansions a breez. And now im sitting here and really can't play D2 anymore after playing GW , Bought and finished recently KOTOR and now that i got soo much time on my hands i could only imagine the hours i could spend playing GW.

The promise of even playing field aspects of PvP.
I hate grinding! I know Guild Wars will involve some sort of grinding in order to be fun, but not to the extend of Everquest or other MMO clones. (I pretty much gave up on Everquest after level 7, and level 9 on Priston Tale - Just to show how much I hate grinding |

I think you should know Mag, it's only getting better. What you have seen so far was still alpha, and yes there are already more improvements to the already awesome graphics. But there is so much more to the game then just eye candy.

I know, but it's what initially caught my interest in: hey, this looks different from the rest..
I mean.., MMOG's are being spit out like anyone can write them these days, and a whole lot are the same in a slightly different jacket.. The screenshots actually made me go see what the game was about

BTW forgot the GuildWars Kudos.....This isn't gonna be a revolutionary MMORPG as by that standard it already is. GuildWars is establishing a new class of game, one for PVP and PVE players alike and that can cross those boundaries in many varying shades, so long as they get ladders together for more than PVP or head to head guild competitions. In the various polls for what appeals to people who played PVP egdes out PVE players usually but PVE is only 3 points behind at best both running around 20% as far as hardcore players of these styles.
Thus the appeal of the game to a broader range of players has occurred. Now for the developer to open up access so we who love this game, can't get enough of its environment in graphics, battle, trading, and the friendships and guilds we become immersed in can tell your friends about it, tell them to download the beta and not have to tell them they gotta wait 2 weeks to get a chance to try it. In the west server for warcraft chat so many complain about the cost of wow or that they found the graphics hokey, some realizing that blizzard is gonna make $230 * 100,000 users per year in cash for a game that will likely not be anymore secure than battle.net. I tell them about GuildWars. They haven't a clue what I am talking about and sometimes, if they do, they immediatly backpeddle on what they were complaining about, like suddenly the price they pay is gonna make WOW superior, although they concede the graphics in GuildWars are superior. Yet in all cases they haven't played, and for me to tell them to download a beta, then go to some article to get a key, so they can play in say 2 weeks? Nah, not able to reach them. Christmas is on it's way and I am trying to reach those kids whose parents will get them one video game in the course of a year, usually at Christmas. This has been my only "negative" so far, being able to share and promote the GuildWars experience to others without sounding like an overenthusiastic noob. |
