Default newb question! :D

hello guys. nice to meet you all.

I have just gotten Guild Wars. (I am NOT a MMORPG newbie. I also play Final Fantasy XI. )

I just have a few questions.

1. What job/class should I start out with? I read the manual and Necromancer sounds pretty gd cool. :P
2. I got Factions. You can play the original game and the original areas on Factions right?
3. Does the game have any comparsions to WoW or any other MMO? 'Cause I hate WoW. FFXI all the way!! lawlz

Thanks guys for the help.

So sorry for the lack of response; but if you do come back to this, here are my answers:

I have never played WoW, and avoid it with a passion. Guild Wars is not your traditional RPG, as there is very little focus on leveling up and getting "l33t" gear. Most of the best items are purchasable from NPCs (more true for casters).

If you only have Factions, you cannot play in the original areas. But, if you own both you may take Factions-only skills and equipment into the original game (Prophecies).

Necromancer is one of my personal favorite classes, but probably isn't the best to start out with, as they can be somewhat difficult to play. As a starting character, I would suggest an elementalist or monk. Elementalists are fairly straightforward classes (once you understand that they should stay away from battle, and that Area-of-effect-damage-over-time skills make enemies run).
Monks are always in high demand, which means you will have no trouble finding a group, and you should soon discover how to heal well. As a new player and a monk, you should use mostly 5 energy healing skills to manage your energy, and stick to spells that cast in 1 second.
Feel free to contact me in game (Time Founder) if you need quicker assistance, and check out the in-progress Newbie section.
If you do start a necromancer, I would advise you to read the Minion Master guide.

I was pretty sure that you can see other players no matter what, even if you can't actually visit them in their lands, though I haven't played in a while so I'm not positive.
