Default Disappointed Am I

I'm really disappointed to have come into these threads expecting there be actual talk about the game, game mechanics and serious ideas which could take notice. So far everything I'm reading is kiddie-chat. This should be more of a humour thread than anything to do with actual game play. If any moderator came in and enforced any kind of rules; this thread would be a ghost town.

I always thought Coldfront was supposed to be an official KoL site, it kind of leaves a bad impression on people when they see this stuff. At least I am pretty turned off. Perhaps thats also why activity is so low around here.

I'm sorry you feel that way, though I wish it was a bit clearer what specifically is upsetting you around here. This forum is pretty clear that it's solely for ideas and such, even though the ideas will never be implemented in game (since we're not Asymmetric). Therefore, the ideas that have been provided here completely fall in line with what I would have expected, in that some are funny, some are childish, but all are creative. Why would we want to stifle creative juices?

I'd think that a truly serious discussion of Kingdom of Loathing would cause a black hole to form and destroy all life.

I think that really there is enough forums on kol already which have different topics but none I have ever come across let you put out your ideas of what you think would be good in this game without being seriously moderated like this one.
If one idea forms enough then it could get all the way Asymmetric and after being looked over by many a serious player could be included in the game.
Not that this couldn't happen on any other forum as such but personally I think that some of the best ideas start from the most ridiculous thoughts. If you want to talk about the fine delicate matters of encounters rates, formulas for whatnot and any other technical kickapows then there are plenty of forums for you already.
Disappointed Am I? Not really

thank-you ch33se, you have taken the very words out of my mouth. Furthermore, KOL+Serious=impossible. If KOL was made serious, all the funny things taken out, there would be nothing left!
