Wiki noob questions

I've been spending a lot of my free time (which I fortunately have quite a bit to spend) trying to help update the NS13 content. For the most part, it's been just a cut-and-paste deal, but I've found a few things I realise I have no clue about.

1) How does one find the itemid of an object? I found that it pops up on KolMafia, but I don't really use KOLM anymore due to the new content.

2) How does one find the effectid? This one doesn't pop up anywhere that I can find. Help?

Oh no, one more. I was not paying attention and made a booboo. I typed the link to a new npc incorrectly and created a page for an npc that does not exist (War Hippy Firespinner - TheKolWiki). When I realised my mistake, I also noticed that the correctly-spelled page already existed, so I could not just rename mine. So I removed all the data, in hopes that the page would remove itself, being void of information, but to no avail.
So um, what should one do in this situation?
