Exclamation Windows Vista Compatibility

I recently upgraded my PC to Windows Vista. I can install Hero Builder on my machine, but I cannot update it. When I do, I tells me it has completed and wants to restart the program. Unfortunately when I re-open the program, I find it was not updated. When I check for updates again, I receive the same updates and it will not upgrade. I even tried using the compatibility mode for previous Windows versions. I understand that Windows Vista is still not compatible with a lot of programs, but I was wondering if you will be able to make it compatible or if you can tell me of a way to manually update it. Thanks a bunch. http://forums.coldfront.net/images/s...icon_smile.gif

I have mine set up up to automatically download the updates and then apply them. It causes the program to restart once a day when I open it, but then it loads and everything works fine.

I hope this works for you.

Thumbs down Still not working, its even worse.

When I set up the auto update and restart, the program just kept opening, updating, then restart, then opening again. Then it would find the same updates that were needed and try to update itself again. That started a loop. Fotunatly, I was able to stop it by setting the settings really fast to not auto update on startup. Remember I am using Windows Vista not XP.

I found out my problem! All I needed to do was run the program in Administration Mode. Easy fix, makes you wonder how much more security is built into Vista. I also have that weird update error everyone is getting where a badge data base keeps requesting an update.
