cant start up hero builder

Whenever I try to start the program, I get this message

"Hero Builder.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." - no other info is provided with the error

The hero builder has been reloaded, and the .net framework is up to date and the propper version. The hero builder was working until recently, but I don't know what has changed on my pc that would affect the program.

Any ideas? I love this program and would hate to not be able to use it again.

Have you tried removing the program COMPLETLY?

Not just with add/remove program, but also maually (or with a "cleaner") deleting it from your registry (via regedit).
