Below is a personal note to those who've read the above post:

Hey guys,

Just a reminder that buying gold is a breach of the ToS as explained by ArenaNet for the use of their game Guild Wars.

I'm not your mother so I'm not going to tell you not to buy game gold, just be aware that if you do there is a chance your account may be shut down (remember that new licence agreement we all accepted a couple of months ago?).

I know that I've put 1400 hours into my four characters and am not prepared to lose them over something as silly as a eula breech when gold is so easy to comeby in a game that is essentially grind free.

By grind free i mean that my warrior wears either a set of Black 15k Ascalon or yellow+orange 15k Gladiators armour and has 3 perfect Axes (2 gold and 1 green), 3 perfect swords (2 gold and 1 ids), 2 perfect hammers (1 gold & 1 green) and 3 perfect shields which all up have either been collected or purchased at a total cost of just over 500k (including runes). My Monk and Ele are similarly equipped.

I collectected these items over the space of 380 hours with that character and anyone can have a character equal to mine in a PvP environment right from the off by just hitting 'create character'.

Having 1337 gear does not make me a better player...it's intelligence, experience and an ability to put skills together to maximise the abilities of a character & team build that does that - i've never played a game before where shiny weapons or perfect stats mean less than this game (i get them because i can, not because i need to).....it's all about the player skill, teamwork and coordination.
